Samsung Omnia M S7530-New Windows Mango Phone from Samsung

Samsung launched another Windows Mobile after Samsung Omnia W naming it Samsung Omnia M. Believe me it’s a treat for your eyes with the sleek design, the amazing 4” display and windows 7.5 mango OS it will make you fall for it. To warn you up-hand the mobile can’t be up gradable to windows 8 which is more flexible because of its memory card support and media sharing facilities. There are many mixed feeling as per why Samsung released a windows mobile with a mere upgrade to Windows 7.8 which has nothing good about it. Let’s see what’s so special about this sleek beauty that provoked Samsung to take this bold step in such a profitable Quarter. Samsung Omnia M S7530 Analysis: Design and Architecture: Well this is something to talk about, the mobile is so slim and stylish that if it had been released in trendy color, people could have bought it for its looks. Disappointingly it comes in black only, but still it’s a killer. With the SuperAMOLED embedded into the body it makes a flawless impression. A glossy finish is given on the front while the back sports a smudge free surface. The volume rocker key is on the left while the right side is equipped with the power key and the dedicated camera key.On the top is the 3.5mm jack and at the bottom the microUSB port. On the front is a physical key for home and two touch sensitive controls for return and Bling search. The back seems to bulge out after a few mm from the top and the bottom may be to squeeze in a bit of space for the inner components. Let’s find out what lies under the hood. Processor: A 1GHz processor is given which is quite enough for lag free performance. No GPU for graphic processing and video decoding but the processor manages to give a handsome performance. Memory: A 384MB RAM is quite enough for the Windows 7.5 OS. The absence of SD card slot continues in this one too (we can’t blame poor Samsung because the OS itself doesn’t support that). The makers released 4GB and 8GB variants but in these days you will easily run out of that space. If you load the memory to the brim the mobile becomes sluggish so it’s a double jeopardy situation. Performance: Well despite of all these cons the mobile is simply fluidic in graphics, transitions and computing. You will never find any lag in a windows mobile unlike the android mobiles. Operating System: The mobile comes loaded with the Windows 7.5 Mango OS which is so fluidic that the Blackberry OS, Android are far behind in the transitions provided by Microsoft. The mobile can’t be upgraded to Windows 8 (windows 8 might roll out later this year). The Windows 8 OS flushes out all the issues that you have with a Windows mobile so be patient or prepare to get disappointed. Display: The 4”SuperAMOLED display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution is very bright generates vivid frames and the 233ppi pixel density is moderate. Camera: The 5MP primary camera is well complemented by the LED Flash to give you vivid pictures from dusk till dawn. The disappointing aspect about the camera is the video capture is of VGA resolution. At the front VGA camera is given for your video calling needs. Data transfer and connectivity: Here’s the bad news the mobile has a Bluetooth but you can transfer nothing but documents through it and it only pairs up with windows devices. Zune Player is necessary to load in music, video files and to update it. You can connect your mobile to a laptop or any other windows device through microUSB port. GPRS. EDGE. Wi-Fi (with hotspot). AGPS is given for navigation. The HSUPA speed is 7.2Mbps and HSDPA speed is 5.76Mbps. Multimedia: Xbox LIVE, Zune Player for Music and Videos, FM Radio, Bling Search engine (Default search engine), HTML5 Browser are given. The App store has limited apps and most of them are useless. The Android market gains extra marks in this section. Sensors like Accelerometer, Proximity, and Compass. Battery: The standard 1500 mAh Li-Ion Battery is given, i suspect it’s backup because of the 4” superAMOLED screen. But like other Smartphones you can squeeze out a day from it. Pros: 4” super AMO LED Display. 5MP camera. Fluidic transitions. 1GHz processor. Cons: The limitations the Windows mobile comes with. 4GB and 8GB internal memory is not enough. No microSD slot. Can’t be upgraded to Windows 8. Final Wrap-Up: Windows mobiles are pretty good on performance but miss out on the abundancy of apps and games. More over the mobile can’t be upgradable to windows 8.the lack of memory and the restrictions of the os make it pretty boring in due course. And remember at this price Nokia 710 offers 8GB internal memory and 1.4GHz scorpion processor which might put the mobile’s fate in jeopardy. The SuperAMOLED,1GHz processor, brilliant ergonomics are the USPs of the mobile. The mobile is perfect for users who value style and performance rather than gaming and entertainment.
